Shapes and Squiggles was an exhibition that discussed the use of shape, line, and color in abstract art, specifically in the work of Alexander Calder and others participating in the abstract movement. I wanted to try something different for the design of this exhibition and suggested we create a mural for the gallery walls. Our museum director and practicum class agreed to give it a try and I was tasked in designing the mural. I used visual elements found in the works we displayed in order to complement the art and tie the works together without distracting the viewer. Once my design was approved, I led the practicum class in executing the mural.
