Your Choice

Your Choice was an exhibition where we gave members of our campus community the opportunity to choose what works we put on display. Our practicum class developed a method to involve the students in first-year foundational writing courses in the decision-making process. We used a set of art prompt dice to create randomized categories that the classes could choose from. Then, the class would choose an artwork as a group and each student would write a short feedback statement that would accompany the artwork in the gallery. This exhibition was a great opportunity to see how we could engage those outside of the Museum Studies program and set a precedent for other exhibitions like this at the JCMA.
